The promoters Ram, Lakshman and Prem are graduates from US universities came back to India’s green valley Nilgiris in 2009, they were determined young transplants from different hi-tech engineering fields, drawn to the natural beauty and richness of the land. Even before they turned over their first shovels full of soil, they believed strongly in doing the right thing.

They started on a 10-acre tea farm in 1985 and decided that doing the right thing meant committing to farming this spectacular land organically, producing food they would want to eat themselves and would feel good about serving their families, friends, and neighbors. Their labor of love became Nilgiris Badagar Agro Farms in 2009.

It wasn’t long before we were doing a lot of the right things. Undaunted by those who said it couldn’t be done, in 2009 we became one of the first companies to successfully launch new tea blend with stevia and prewashed, packaged vegetables & salad for retail sale. We’ve been farming for 25 years now, and we are striving to become the world’s largest grower of organic produce. But our roots remain strong: our goals still guide the company, and our original commitment to farming organically has never wavered. We’re dedicated to bringing the benefits of organic food — fresh, flavorful, and healthy — to as many people as possible.
